Virginia Perez (Of Counsel)
Virginia Lee Perez has been practicing law since October of 2010 after earning a Juris Doctorate law degree from Florida International University College of Law. She is also a Gator Alumni and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida. While studying law, Ms. Perez traveled all over the world, from Dublin, Ireland to Vienna, Austria, to gain a greater knowledge of the law abroad and to represent FIU in International Arbitration competitions. She takes great pride in her legal education and background as it has allowed her to be a strong and skilled attorney for clients. Currently, Ms. Perez is a part of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers and the Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. Ms. Perez always knew the legal field was the path for her, as she is a natural advocator for others and feels passionately about helping those that have been wronged. Her commitment to the field is evident in every civil litigation, commercial litigation, and property insurance case that she handles for the firm. With over a decade of experience, Ms. Perez has acquired a plethora of knowledge and powerful presence in the courtroom. When Ms. Perez isn’t helping clients or otherwise practicing law, she trains and competes in rugby and Brazilian Jiujitsu. Ms. Perez has won the International Brazilian Jiujitsu Federation World Championship two times.
Michael J. Garcia (Case Manager)
As a case manager, Michael utilizes his exceptional interpersonal skills and property insurance knowledge to assist the firm’s clients with their insurance needs. Without the right guidance, this process can be overwhelming and scary, so Michael ensures that every client feels taken care of and reassured. Michael has 13 years of experience working for law firms in the area of property insurance. His passion for case management stems from his aspiration to help those who need it most. Since 2011, Michael has worked diligently behind the scenes in our firm. It is his leadership skills, creative problem solving, and caring spirit that make him a valued player on our team. Outside of work, Michael enjoys all things outdoorsy, including boating, fishing, and hunting.
Xionary Guerrero (Office Manager)
Xionary has been our dedicated office manager since 2016. She has nearly a decade of experience working in legal settings and is known for her exceptional work performance and bright personality with clientele. Xionary has a beautiful little boy who inspires her every day to do good in the world. It is this desire that led her into the legal field. Xionary takes tremendous pride in being a part of our team that works tirelessly to ensure that every client is taken care of. She is of immense value to our firm as she provides great personal service while also being able to manage the business side of the firm. In her spare time, she enjoys family karaoke nights, concerts, and collecting vinyl records.
Anna Albuquerque (Legal Assistant)
Ms. Albuquerque recently joined our team in May of 2021 and has since graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida International University’s College of Business and Honor’s College with a Bachelors’ Degree in Finance. She hopes to one day be a successful corporate attorney and is taking every opportunity at SG Law Group to immerse herself in the practice of law before she begins her law school journey in Fall of 2023. In the short time she has been with us, Ms. Albuquerque has made her mark on the firm with her professionalism and excellent service. Aside from assisting the attorneys with case work and handling the firm’s invoicing system, Ms. Albuquerque makes it her daily mission to ensure that every client is happy and well taken care of. She considers herself the ultimate foodie and enjoys trying out new restaurants on her spare time.
Alexandra J. Sotomayor (Legal Assistant)
Alexandra is a bilingual Keiser University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice & legal studies. She has been with the firm for over 10 years. She assists our attorneys in the preparation and organization of client files and documents. She is also responsible for court filings of litigation cases. Her client interaction is second to none, specifically, explaining answers to any questions clients may have during the litigation process. Her attention to detail and incredible work ethic allows her to multitask to achieve many goals. She is a great asset to the firm. Outside of the office, Alexandra enjoys spending family time outdoors especially at the beach with her 2 daughters as well as traveling.
